By cooling with liquid nitrogen, components in metalworking can be joined together quickly and form-fittingly. The quality of the components is maintained, no reworking is necessary.

Cooling of the parts
The parts pass through the cooling bath in the so-called guideways or lie on the indexing wheel plate and are loaded and unloaded by robot or gantry systems. The robots and their provision and interlinking are carried out by the machine manufacturer. The guideways, the bath shape, the shaft or the cover are optimized in consultation with the customer so that the dwell times of the parts in the bath meet the optimum assembly cycle times.

Structure
Several cooling baths are in operation in the assembly machines, which are usually of modular design and are supplied with liquid nitrogen via a common storage tank, the phase separator. An electronic control system regulates all tank levels automatically and thus without operator intervention.
The optimum filling pressure of the phase separator is 0.5 to 0.8 bar and is controlled by the automatic level control.
